The Ark Returned to Isreal
1. And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
1. L`arche de l`Éternel fut sept mois dans le pays des Philistins.
1. Ary ny fiaran' i Jehovah dia tany amin' ny tanin' ny Filistina fito volana.
2. And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.
2. Et les Philistins appelèrent les prêtres et les devins, et ils dirent: Que ferons-nous de l`arche de l`Éternel? Faites-nous connaître de quelle manière nous devons la renvoyer en son lieu.
2. Ary ny Filistina nampaka ny mpisorona sy ny mpanao fankatòvana ka nanao hoe: Ahoana no hataontsika amin' ny fiaran' i Jehovah? Lazao aminay izay hanateranay azy ho any amin' ny fitoerany.
3. And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
3. "Ils répondirent: Si vous renvoyez l`arche du Dieu d`Israël, ne la renvoyez point à vide, mais faites à Dieu un sacrifice de culpabilité; alors vous guérirez, et vous saurez pourquoi sa main ne s`est pas retirée de dessus vous."
3. Ary hoy ireo: Raha aterinareo ny fiaran' ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, aza aterina foana izy, fa manatera fanati-panonerana ho Azy mihitsy, dia ho sitrana ianareo, ary ho fantatrareo koa izay tsy ialan' ny tanany aminareo.
4. Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
4. Les Philistins dirent: Quelle offrande lui ferons-nous? Ils répondirent: Cinq tumeurs d`or et cinq souris d`or, d`après le nombre des princes des Philistins, car une même plaie a été sur vous tous et sur vos princes.
4. "Dia hoy ny olona: Inona àry no fanati-panonerana haterinay ho Azy? Ary hoy kosa ireo: Vay volamena dimy sy totozy volamena dimy, araka ny isan' ireo andrianan' ny Filistina; fa aretina iray ihany no manjo anareo rehetra sy ny andriananareo."
5. Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
5. Faites des figures de vos tumeurs et des figures de vos souris qui ravagent le pays, et donnez gloire au Dieu d`Israël: peut-être cessera-t-il d`appesantir sa main sur vous, sur vos dieux, et sur votre pays.
5. "Koa manaova sarin' ny vainareo sy sarin' ny totozinareo izay manimba ny tany; ary omeo voninahitra ny Andriamanitry ny Isiraely; angamba hanamaivana ny tanany hiala aminareo sy ny andriamanitrareo ary ny taninareo Izy."
6. Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
6. Pourquoi endurciriez-vous votre coeur, comme les Égyptiens et Pharaon ont endurci leur coeur? N`exerça-t-il pas ses châtiments sur eux, et ne laissèrent-ils pas alors partir les enfants d`Israël?
6. Fa nahoana no manamafy ny fonareo ianareo, toy ny nanamafian' ny Egyptiana sy Farao ny fony? Raha nanao fahagagana namelezany azy Izy, moa tsy nalefany handeha va ny olona, ka dia lasa?
7. Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:
7. "Maintenant, faites un char tout neuf, et prenez deux vaches qui allaitent et qui n`aient point porté le joug; attelez les vaches au char, et ramenez à la maison leurs petits qui sont derrière elles."
7. Koa ankehitriny manaova sarety vaovao, ary mangalà ombivavy roa mitaiza, izay tsy mbola nasiana zioga, dia afehezo amin' ny sarety ny ombivavy, ka ento mody ny zanany hiala aminy.
8. And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.
8. "Vous prendrez l`arche de l`Éternel, et vous la mettrez sur le char; vous placerez à côté d`elle, dans un coffre, les objets d`or que vous donnez à l`Éternel en offrande pour le péché; puis vous la renverrez, et elle partira."
8. Ary alao ny fiaran' i Jehovah, ka apetraho eo ambonin' ny sarety, dia ataovy ao anaty vata kely eo anilany ny fanaka volamena haverinareo ho Azy ho fanati-panonerana, ka alefaso izany mba handeha.
9. And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us: it was a chance that happened to us.
9. "Suivez-la du regard: si elle monte par le chemin de sa frontière vers Beth Schémesch, c`est l`Éternel qui nous a fait ce grand mal; sinon, nous saurons que ce n`est pas sa main qui nous a frappés, mais que cela nous est arrivé par hasard."
9. "Ary izahao, ka raha miakatra amin' ny lalana mankany amin' ny taniny ihany ho any Beti-semesy izany, dia Jehovah no nahatonga izao loza lehibe izao tamintsika; fa raha tsy izany, dia ho fantatsika fa tsy ny tanany no namely antsika, fa mby tamin' ny anjara izay nanjo antsika isika."
10. And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home:
10. Ces gens firent ainsi. Ils prirent deux vaches qui allaitaient et les attelèrent au char, et ils enfermèrent les petits dans la maison.
10. Dia nataon' ny olona izany, ka naka ombivavy roa mitaiza izy, dia nafehiny tamin' ny sarety ireo, fa ny zanany narindriny tao an-trano.
11. And they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.
11. Ils mirent sur le char l`arche de l`Éternel, et le coffre avec les souris d`or et les figures de leurs tumeurs.
11. Dia napetrany teo ambonin' ny sarety ny fiaran' i Jehovah sy ny vata kely ary ny totozy volamena sy ny sarin' ny vay.
12. And the kine took the straight way to the way of Bethshemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Bethshemesh.
12. "Les vaches prirent directement le chemin de Beth Schémesch; elles suivirent toujours la même route en mugissant, et elles ne se détournèrent, ni à droite ni à gauche. Les princes des Philistins allèrent derrière elles jusqu`à la frontière de Beth Schémesch."
12. Ary ny ombivavy nizotra mahitsy tamin' ny lalana mankany Beti-semesy, dia nandeha tamin' ny lalambe ka nimamà teny am-pandehanana, ary tsy nania, na ho amin' ny ankavanana, na ho amin' ny ankavia, ary ireo andrianan' ny Filistina nanaraka azy hatramin' ny faritanin' i Beti-semesy.
13. And they of Bethshemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.
13. "Les habitants de Beth Schémesch moissonnaient les blés dans la vallée; ils levèrent les yeux, aperçurent l`arche, et se réjouirent en la voyant."
13. "Ary ny Beti-semesita nijinja ny vary tritika tany an-dohasaha; ary nanopy ny masony izy ka nahita ny fiara, dia faly raha nahita izany."
14. And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.
14. Le char arriva dans le champ de Josué de Beth Schémesch, et s`y arrêta. Il y avait là une grande pierre. On fendit le bois du char, et l`on offrit les vaches en holocauste à l`Éternel.
14. "Ary ny sarety tonga teo an-tsahan' i Josoa Beti-semesita, dia nijanona teo, ary nisy vato lehibe teo; dia namaky ny hazon' ny sarety ny olona ka nanatitra ny ombivavy ho fanatitra dorana ho an' i Jehovah."
15. And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Bethshemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD.
15. "Les Lévites descendirent l`arche de l`Éternel, et le coffre qui était à côté d`elle et qui contenait les objets d`or; et ils posèrent le tout sur la grande pierre. Les gens de Beth Schémesch offrirent en ce jour des holocaustes et des sacrifices à l`Éternel."
15. "Ary ny Levita nampidina ny fiaran' i Jehovah sy ny vata kely izay teo aminy, dia ilay nitoeran' ny fanaka volamena, ka nametraka azy teo ambonin' ilay vato lehibe; ary tamin' izany andro izany ny mponina tao beti-semesy dia nanolotra fanatitra dorana sy nanao sorona hafa ho an' i Jehovah."
16. And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.
16. Les cinq princes des Philistins, après avoir vu cela, retournèrent à Ékron le même jour.
16. Ary raha hitan' ireo andriana dimy tamin' ny Filistina izany, dia niverina nankany Ekrona androtrizay ihany izy.
17. And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the LORD; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;
17. Voici les tumeurs d`or que les Philistins donnèrent à l`Éternel en offrande pour le péché: une pour Asdod, une pour Gaza, une pour Askalon, une pour Gath, une pour Ékron.
17. "Ary izao no sary volamenan' ny vay naterin' ny Filistina ho fanati-panonerana ho an' i Jehovah: an' i Asdoda iray, an' i Gaza iray, an' i Askelona iray, an' i Gata iray, an' i Ekrona iray;"
18. And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite.
18. Il y avait aussi des souris d`or selon le nombre de toutes les villes des Philistins, appartenant aux cinq chefs, tant des villes fortifiées que des villages sans murailles. C`est ce qu`atteste la grande pierre sur laquelle on déposa l`arche de l`Éternel, et qui est encore aujourd`hui dans le champ de Josué de Beth Schémesch.
18. "Ary ny totozy volamena dia araka ny isan' ny tanàna rehetra an' ny Filistina, izay an' ireo andriana dimy, na ny tanàna mimanda, na ny vohitra any ivelany, ka hatramin' ny vato lehibe an' i Abela, izay nametrahany ny fiaran' i Jehovah; ary mbola any an-tanimbolin' i Josoa Beti-semesita mandraka androany izany."
19. And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
19. "L`Éternel frappa les gens de Beth Schémesch, lorsqu`ils regardèrent l`arche de l`Éternel; il frappa [cinquante mille] soixante-dix hommes parmi le peuple. Et le peuple fut dans la désolation, parce que l`Éternel l`avait frappé d`une grande plaie."
19. Ary Jehovah namely ny mponina tao beti-semesy noho ny nijerijeren' ireo ny fiarany, ka dia olona fitopolo amby dimy alina no maty, dia nisaona ny olona, satria nasian' i Jehovah, ka dia be dia be no maty.
20. And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
20. Les gens de Beth Schémesch dirent: Qui peut subsister en présence de l`Éternel, de ce Dieu saint? Et vers qui l`arche doit-elle monter, en s`éloignant de nous?
20. Ary hoy ny mponina tao Beti-semesy: Iza no mahajanona eo anoloan' izao Jehovah Andriamanitra masina izao? Ary ho amin' iza no hiakarany, rehefa miala amintsika?
21. And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
21. "Ils envoyèrent des messagers aux habitants de Kirjath Jearim, pour leur dire: Les Philistins ont ramené l`arche de l`Éternel; descendez, et faites-la monter vers vous."
21. "Dia nandefa iraka nankany amin' ny mponina tao Kiriata-jearima izy hanao hoe: Efa naverin' ny Filistina ny fiaran' i Jehovah; koa midìna ianareo, dia ento miakatra ho any aminareo izy."
